Bookmarklets

These are bookmarklets that I find extremely useful when browsing around the web. Simply put bookmarklets are little bits of code that sit in your bookmarks (or more usefully in your bookmarks toolbar) that do something useful, like displaying passwords, removing redirects etc. These bookmarklets work in Internet Explorer and FireFox

To test a bookmark just hit the link
To keep a bookmarklet either right click it and select "add bookmark" or drag it to your bookmarks toolbar or bookmarks menu. I keep a bookmarks folder on my toolbar that houses all my bookmarklets, that way I can just drag new ones into my bookmarklet folder

iconBookmarklet: View Passwords

Description: Shows passwords in clear text instead of *******. Can be useful if your browser is remembering a password for a site but you can't remember what it is yourself.

Test it on this password box:

iconBookmarklet: Remove Redirects

Description: Removes sneaky code that redirects the link you thought you clicked on. This is exrememly useful if you're visiting a page which has a lot of images or text links that are all processed by the webpage making some of them links to adverts. Porn index sites do this a lot.

iconBookmarklet: Hide all images

Description: Removes all images on a page. Useful as a "boss key" (Just refresh to get the images back)
