When our kids were young, we would do the Mouse or Universal almost every year. We always followed the three P's. Peanut butter, pretzels and panchos. The peanut butter and pretzels would hold them over in between the grossly overpriced meals and the panchos were used almost daily.

At least not this past weekend in Daytona beach, every single one of them for 1000 miles was there for a truck rally showing off their monster trucks, parading their trucks up and down the strip, peeling out and blowing black smoke all over the pedestrians, honking these mega horns that freak everyone out by how loud they are,Basically it was bike week but for monster trucks, the difference is I think the bikers are older and probably behave better overall.I do live in Orlando and was there for the beach and a Journey cover band that was playing, had no idea that truck event was happening.

The true redneck area around there is St Cloud and then going south. Yeehaw Junction, does that ring a bell?

But the truest redneck area of Florida, at least of Central Florida, is west of Clermont going towards the Gulf. Teeth still set in their gums will become hard to find that direction.

I was in Yehaw last week. Had to travel down to pahokee. talk about redneck! right in the middle of the cane fields. nearest hotel was almost 50 miles away (west palm). Facility is surrounded by cane fields, can't figure out why they have a rat problem... when they burn the cane, the rabbits, snakes, and rats come out. good place for EV!

It was both hot and rainy. Overall, wasn't a bad day. Surprisingly the park didn't seem overly crowded. Longest wait was maybe 40 minutes. All of the young moms in the rompers made the wait bearable.
