  • Netflix series and shows

Burning thru my shows like crazy and looking for new Netflix series to watch. Anyone got anyone good ones they have enjoyed?? It always seems to be the obscure mini-series, IMHO, that turn out to be the best.

Here are what I've watched so far:

The 100 - Not bad. Nice sci-fi theme. Several mini-plots within a major plot so I found myself skipping a show or two to get back to the plots that interested me. All in all a good show.

Ozark - Modern day family has to help Mexican drug lord laundry money. Hands down the best I've watched so far. It takes 8 shows to build you up to the final two episodes which had me on the edge of my seat. Two major thumbs up.

Riverdale - Whodunit plot. Mainly geared toward the younger generation but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Actually looking forward to the new season coming out soon.

13 Reasons - Had heard about this one for awhile and stayed away from it due to the suicide theme but decided to watch one lazy afternoon and really liked it. A girl commits suicide and leaves 13 tapes why she did. It's not as morbid as I thought it would be and although the main theme is suicide, it doesn't make that the center of attention.

How to get away with murder - Another good show with mini-plots within a main-plot. I could do without all homo's making out and shit, had to fast forward thru that, but another show that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Glow - We've talked about this in other threads. I thought it was going to be ridiculous but turned out to be a good show about the creation of GLOW wrestling. Very interesting.

Orange is the new Black - About women in jail that's all over the place. I forced myself to watch the first season but couldn't get thru the first show of second season. Personally I think it's a waste of time.

Santa Clarita Diet - Cute Comedy with drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant from Justified. She dies and turns into an undead house wife. Some of the lines Tim has in here caused me to laugh until I was crying. Pretty funny show with a stupid plot.

OA - Watched the first show and just couldn't get into it. Some chick vanishes from home and comes back with super powers. Found it really boring.

Client List - Jennifer Love Hewitt runs a massage parlor with benefits. Plot is mediocre at best but I watched it all because of JLH and her skimpy outfits.

The Founder - Not a series but a great show about how the McDonald's empire took off. Highly suggest this movie if you are looking to burn 2 hours.

Howard Stern says Daredevil is really good and was produced like a full blown movie. Will probably start off with this one tonight.

Just got notification yesterday from Netflix that Narcos season 3 starts Sept 1. Thought it would end with Season 2 when Escobar got killed. I guess not. Do you have Amazon Prime?

I have Narcos on my "to watch" list. Robin Quivers gave this on a big thumbs up.

I have Amazon Prime as well but haven't really looked at the movies and series yet. Good list over there?? Maybe I should check it out as well.

Have you ever checked out "Viking" on Amazon? Amazing series. Just finished it's 5th season. Impressive 8.7 out of 10 on IMDB.

Throw out a couple more. "Fargo"- 3 seasons on Amazon. "Stranger Things" 1 season on Netflix (I think). I'll have tons more by tomorrow. I guess I can assume you've watched the older ones? Sopranos, Deadwood, Breaking Bad, etc. How about "Better Call Saul"? 2 seasons on Netflix.

Daredevil is good. If you watch Daredevil, watch Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in that order. They are working on one with all 4 main characters too (The Defenders). I think they are doing a Punisher spinoff from Daredevil.

We are slowly going through Spartacus. We are on the 2nd season that was their WTF are we going to do season and a prequel season. The guy that played Spartacus in Season 1 was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died. It makes GOT seem like a G rated preschool show. Tons of tits, full frontal nudity and a lot of dick shots. It is a show that would have Slappy happy all the way around.

Santa Clarita Diet is a cute show.

Stranger Things was not bad either.

On Amazon try Bosch and Man in the High Castle. The Tick is about to start later this month.

If you haven't noticed, I'm way too slewed toward historical dramas. 2 (both only 2 seasons each) that Netflix started early spending tons of money to break in to the biz were "Rome" and "Marco Polo". Both worth a watch.

Santa Clarita Diet is great but it's hard to picture Timothy Olyphany as anything other than a Marshal.

I'm pissed at Netflix for ending Marco Polo with a major cliffhanger at the end of season 2. Deadwood level pissed.

The second episode had Timothy backing down from a bar fight with Nathan Fillion. I was like "Oh come on! No way in hell would Raylan ever puss out like that!"
