I would love it if Netflix or someone else picked up Penny Dreadful for another season or two. Great show. I can't believe Showtime cancelled it.

Every analysis I've read over the last 2 years is Disney is fixing to take a financial bloodbath over ESPN way overpaying for multiyear contracts they signed.

I don't have HBO and haven't for 20 years. I watched it on Netflix/ Amazon. Don't remember which.Sopranos, same situation. HBO was content with DVD releases and having Netflix/ Amazon pay them for the privilege of streaming their content until Netflix's profit margin caught their eye and decided to start their own streaming service. Bad move. I pay $9 per month for each Netflix/ Amazon. Like adding channels onto your Dish/ Direct account already bloated with 95% channels you never watch, really bad move.

ESPN still makes over $1 billion in profits PER QUARTER. They spend about $7 billion per year and bring in about $15 billion per year in revenue.

I was just pointing out that even cable giants like HBO can not afford to make expensive shows like Rome.

Beagleman is dead wrong. Disney is bleeding money and ESPN is the reason.$13 per month bill. BS. Who is going to watch that crap?

They needed the extra padding in the first two or three seasons to keep young male viewers then the writing got a bit better so they let them deflate back to just a push up bra and tight clothing.

I think that they are Hulu but Moonboy and Quickdraw were both good while they lasted. I liked Outsiders but they booted the series. Maybe Netflix or someone will pick it up.
