Yes, the cumulative costs associated with the trips to Florida are ridiculous. But I find it more than a little disingenuous that lefties suddenly care about over-spending as soon as the guy who just added $9 trillion to the national debt left office.

Oh, and spare me your predictable "It's Bush's recession's fault" response.

    • The global economic crisis was the reason for passing the biggest stimulus package in history. Sorry if reality has a liberal bias.

Ah. So all of the economic blunders and mis-steps during Obama's 8 years are Bush's fault? And all $9trillion of Obama's debt was due to the 2007-2008 crash? Should we just go ahead and amend history and say that the Bush era spanned from 2001-2017? Please elaborate.

What blunders and missteps? And no, not all the debt increase was due to the economic crash and recession, just a lot of it. Some was also due to the entitlement programs everyone including Obama just won't touch, and the Bush era tax cuts which he didn't reverse, partly due to the crash. The tax cuts, stimulus, entitlement spending, military spending including the continuing 'war on terror' all contributed to the debt increase. Which of them do you think were economic missteps that another president would not have made? Btw, I'd blame bush for the tax cuts he pushed through, not for the crash. More of a 'Murican thing to pretend everything that happens in the economy is directly and solely down to who happens to be in the WH at the time. As I've been trying to point out to you, economics is a little more complicated than that.

You can put about 1 trn of the 9 trn increase down to actions Obama took but tax and spend policies in place before he got there and the increased cost of the safety net spending during a recession account for most of it. You can of course argue that he should have taken action to try and persuade congress to turn that around, but you should be distinguishing between action and inaction if you want to build an accurate picture of why your country is piling on the debt so fast.

Right, we cant ask people to pay for PBS/CPB or meals on wheels, but we can ask them to pay for weekly jaunts down to Mar-A-Loogie for the golfer-in-chief, and for weapons.

                .....and for weapons

Trump's current budget calls for a $52 billion dollar military increase which would also repair a lot of bridges.

IMO if only had Trump imported another NY accountant such as Dave did with Murray Blum.

He would start by correcting a $20 trillion deficit by slashing military spending.

Work out a deal with Japan that they take over the expense of defending South Korea and we sell them all the oil they want at 7% below market price.

If 100.000 troops are required in Germany than 9 other NATO countries should provide 10,000 soldiers each.

Take all the military lifers home and let them finish out their pensions building walls, patrolling borders and updating our infrastructure,

As far as PBS and Meal on Wheels go their are bigger battles to fight, a few celebrity summer stadium concerts could fund their yearly budget easily.

Plus you could take a tax credit and attend a Woodstock like concert in Colorado.

Article 1, section 8, general welfare. You think most of your laws are unconstitutional and it's just that no one but you ever noticed? That's kinda retarded.

Germany does not need US troops there to defend it. US troops are there because the US wants them there, and no one else is going to pay for that. SK could take NK in anything short of nuclear conflict or China stepping in, and the reason they haven't built their own nukes is the US doesn't want them to.

So to sum up, you want to subsidise Japan's oil purchases to the tune of about 17.5million per day in exchange for them extending their non nuclear limited defense posture armed forces around SK, which actually has a better army?
