I have a 26 mile round trip commute for work, I'd have no problem making an all electric my work vehicle if I could find the right one.
Less than 10 dollars a month. it has 37,000 miles and had burned around 700 gallons of gas

They've already got the performance part covered. The model S does 0-60 in something like 2.5 seconds, which is insane. I've never had a chance to drive one but I hear that it's actually unsettling how fast they are, especially given the lack of engine noise.

Costs are high right now obviously, but those should come down quite a bit as the technology matures and the market increases.

Electric cars are the true money savers for Americans.
Never thought about to that level of detail.

You can apparently get some doodad that simulates gas burning engine sounds over the audio system. How cool is that?

Lambo V12, or the best sounding engine ever, the Ferrari F355 (!!), or a Rolls, or a fucking John Deere tractor. Whatever floats your boat.

Some safety association is seriously trying to get legislation passed that would force e-cars to be equipped with an external speaker system so pedestrians can hear them coming up from behind.

Been there done that. About 25 years ago. Yikes. Always thought Tesla was a solid underrated rock band.
