    Funny how that works...

Why do you care? Most of us on the other side of the barbed wire don't. We know politics is rife with hypocrisy. But the situation now could be different than it was when Obama was playing chicken with diplomatic language.

FTR, Trump should have consulted congress first, if that's even possible in this "climate".

Translation: Republicans are hypocrites but it doesn't matter because it'm my side.

      We know.

If your opinion is based on the letter behind the name of who is President then how do you even know what is right or wrong anymore? That's the entire point. There have been disturbing videos of kids being killed in Syria that any Repub during the Obama administration including Trump could've apprised themselves of...so pretending that one attack is the game changer is just another in the long line of bullshit.

I think this one was a "game changer" because of the political implications more than "fixing Syria". The statements Tillerson made about not removing Assad a few days before the attack let some people twist the story into Assad testing Trump's "vote of confidence". Add that up with all the noise about Trump being a Russian puppet and it becomes more clear why Trump felt this was the gassing that finally warranted punishment.

Killing two birds with one stone.

He can show that he disagrees with Putin about an important issue and prove that he did not give Assad free reign to do what he wants. Of course we know from Trump's warm meeting with Al-Sisi, he can over look a few military attacks on civilians and cozy up with a Middle Eastern Dictator too. Just give him a little time to figure out what policy he likes the best.

I think I'll use this opportunity to try out my new catch phrase:

While Trump learns on the fly, PEOPLE DIE!

Has a nice ring to it.

This thread looks about as good a place as any...

I guess my position, regardless of the D or R behind the POTUS name, is moving more towards the Ron / Rand Paul position on use of force. I don't want to be the world's policeman. National DEFENSE, not Global Cop.
