I'm ok with some tax cuts. They need to close some loop holes and maybe mitigate some corporate welfare though. The American populace having more money to spend/save is always a good thing as long as its done responsibly.

You shouldn't do tax cuts until you identify legitimate spending cuts. Instead, I'm hearing "spend more on the military."

OK, if you want to spend more, don't cut taxes. Or you might even have to raise them.

This whole "it will pay for itself" idea is demonstrably moronic.

Feigning fiscal responsibility after 8 years of supporting Obama is laughable.

Oh, and obligatory Laffer reference just for consistency.

What a fucktard. I am 100% behind the idea of cutting taxes.
But, it has to be done after fundamental changes to spending.
Then, and only then, it must be part of fundamental changes to the code itself.

And I will not support any President, Congressman, or Senator who does not believe this.
The sad part is....neither party is willing to do these things and 98% of country won't join me in this.

What I dont understand is that all Donny has to say is this: "We're going to give EVERYONE a tax cut and to pay for it we are going to close some corporate loopholes and mitigate corporate welfare. Congress, lets make this happen for the American people who pay far too much already."

Everyone in America (with the exception of the ultra Libs who simply wont get on board for anything he does) will get on board with that. Its plain and easy to understand. It shows that you cant have one without the other; something that the majority of Americans who budget monthly know all too well. It puts the onus on Congress who will prove themselves beholden to corporations and not their constituents if they hem and haw about it.

You know what, I'll believe Trump's serious about cutting "tax loopholes" when he goes after hedge fund managers and their dodges. Maybe they'll have to increase their fees in order to offset higher taxes. I wouldn't know and wouldn't care. But when they get passed on it'd be harder to spot.

Yah....well....this was the only hope I had for the guy as president.
That he would see the sense of this kind of thing. Do the things that people of average intelligence can spot from a mile away....that Congress won't pursue because it is against their self interest.

While....it would be against Trumps self interest as well (from a business standpoint)....I held out hope that his other self-interest of having the adulation of the masses would win out and he might behave in that manner. Apparently now, his self interest is adulation from the creeps.

Give everyone a tax cut and pay for it with a tax increase? Does sound like something he'd say. Except for the paying for it part, that'll be by projecting ludicrously unrealistic growth.

                            Well, to be fair.......
Cheezy noted that it was closing loopholes who's net effect is corporate welfare. It's more righting a wrong than raising taxes....although...yes...it's raising taxes.
It's something....Democrats say....close the loopholes so evil corporations don't get richer.
It's something Libertarians can get on board with, if the loopholes indeed are resulting in corporate welfare.
It's something Republicans should say. Yes, taxes ultimately come from people, but loopholes do nothing but corrupt the broken system further, add to the madness, and wrongfully interfere with the markets. Many Republicans could easily support this if they got one or two key Republican Senators on board and Trump appealed to his dumb-ass supporters who would be more than willing to "stick it to the man" in lieu of a tax cut for themselves. Why he doesn't tap in to this, I'll never know. I gave him the slim chance he would. Now that he's reached arguably the most powerful position in the world....what's next? To be the best ever. Only way he becomes close to "the best ever" is by working to solve all the fuckedupedness we have been permitting for the last 50 years. Doesn't look like he's going to do that.

The problem is, Republicans don't say it, because they're paid off by those same people. Oh, and they need the money for all their spending.
Democrats only say it, because it sounds good to their base, but won't actually do it....because they too are paid off by those same people. And since they won't do it, they want to additionally raise taxes on individuals because they need all that money for their spending too. Which they can't get at the moment, unless they go along with Republicans on their spending and get the payback for whatever they can scratch through.

His candidacy was essentially third party. I doubt we'll ever know what the percentage is of those who voted for him to protest, to support the party, or to save the nation with a SCOTUS pick, as I did. I think it's still too early to tell.
