      Prediction:

There will be no smoking gun of whatever Democrats are trying to accuse Trump of doing.
Liberals will be internally bothered by this, but won't let it stop them from continuing to be morons.

There will be some things that make the Trump "Administration" look bumbling and on the verge of guilty of whatever the Democrats are accusing him of.
Trump supporters will be internally bothered by this, but won't let it stop them from continuing to be morons.

Meanwhile the country will go on...fretting over removing confederate monuments because they're insensitive to the African American community. But, are apparently fine with the shit schools that are offered where many of these same African Americans are localized as well as creating extremely unfriendly environments for employers who are likely to hire people who attended these underserving schools. But that's not important right now. We have to get rid of those statues.

When did the term "African-American" get started?

I contend that the use of (whatever)-American VS American of (whatever) decent, is the start of a lot of the problems we are having.

What's wrong with it? I use it as leftover from AP Stylebook rules and common practices. If you're specifically speaking to something that directly references something regarding race....that's the term to use. I don't know how it started. Whether it originated from within the African American community or from without. But, my supposition was it was designed to replace the term "negro" which was common in 'polite' speech....or news reporting back in the day.....as opposed to other even more significantly denigrating terms.

So the term was African American. Because, that was generally accepted/requested/approved/preferred by that particular community. However, AP Style also pointed out things along the lines of "go with what your particular subject" uses/prefers. In other words, if you're talking about "Black Lives Matter", then "black" would be acceptable.

Generally, when you're talking about race.....is race not independent of just about everything else? We're not talking about some specific element...that you can put people into a container when it makes sense to do so. Like "internet posters" or "trumpet players". Race and "racial life" is not a pursuit of something specific. Racism, racial differences, racial struggles are something that effect you not as a trumpet player, but as an American.

It's a way to identify the race, when race is germaine to the context and it is accepted as non-offensive, as far as I know. "Black" can be. Or not. Depending. So the default is African American.

At least from a news reporting standing.

And in the end, is it not African AMERICAN? Think of it this way. If you're totally against Syrian refugees....but had to have one next door....would you rather have someone who thinks of themselves as a Syrian AMERICAN or a Syrian Refugee? Potentially a big difference. I'm totally good with someone who embraces "AMERICAN".

So , basically, Trump obstructed justice by asking Comey to drop the investigation of Flynn and back off on the Russia probe by demanding an oath of loyalty , fired him because Comey gave a non-answer, but will not get impeached because the Republicans are in the majority and don't want to give up power.

              That cover it ?

I'm not saying whatever-American is wrong. Having whatever first interferes with assimilation. Maintaining knowledge of one roots isn't to be stopped but assimilation is to be encouraged. One major way is to refer to oneself as American of whatever descent.

Myself, I'm American. I haven't checked but family lore has an amalgam of Brit tempered with German and maybe some native American. So I'm a mutt. An American mutt.

Except Comey literally just stated that he interpreted Trump's statement as a request. The whole "will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?" bit, remember that?

No I am going with what he said; He said Trump never asked him to end it. That is what I am goig with.

                            Dems hoped for Collusion-No Collusion.
                            Hoped for Investigation-No Investigation.
                            Hoped for Obstruction-No Obstruction.

There is no statement that Trump told him to end investigation. I cannot believe we are even having this conversation.
