  • The DNC hack was an insider

TL/DL? the download rate of the files was running at 180 mb/s. Possible by an internet connection - impossible for anyone running through a VPN.
Evidence that undermines the "election hack" narrative should get more attention.

yea... "Leonid Bershidsky is a Bloomberg View columnist. He was the founding editor of the Russian business daily Vedomosti and founded the opinion website Slon.ru"

Who are these VIPS folks? a few dozen former government employees who don't have access to classified information vs. the entire US intelligence apparatus.

      They're getting closer.

The person with that avatar is pointing to people and declaring they are biased?
Nice how you pointed to a completely different story that isn't related as some sort of relevant fact.

Who has more motive to hack the DNC? Putin, who has really nothing to gain, or some disgruntled Bernie supporter that found out that Hillary rigged the election?

That is his M.O. He takes articles, uj posts out of context to form straw men. He could line every grass skirt in Hawaii with the straw men he has built.

VIPS is central to the originally posted article.
I just find it odd that people would trust a Russian to tell us Russia isnt a problem.

I mean I certainly appreciate Beagle's skepticism but the number of his "inside source" conspiracy posts that turn out to be duds is about on par with any story from CNN...it certainly feeds the curiosity but there is clearly just as much of an industry in pushing these back source stories as there is in the "legit" news media. No one ever comes back and points out how many of these stories are duds from nefarious sources the same way people claim the fake news is.

Some of the players are the same but this is most certainly nothing like the cold war

*connects via VPN, downloads a huge file from US office*

Hmm, I wonder why my download rate is?

                      Oh, it's hovering around 310mb/s.

                        what video are you ignoring?

Just wondering, did your file transfer from Washington DC, around to Russia and through a Russian VPN? Because one of the "proofs" that it is the Russians is that it went through a Russian VPN website supposedly. Which anyone who uses VPN knows, is completely meaningless but still the data did go through Russia at that speed. The VPN I use - used to have a Russian site to travel through but they shut that one down.

As for the "source" / Bloomberg - The Nation ran a very similar article.

VPNs can run at high speeds or low speeds. It depends on things like how fast your connection is and how many people are being served by it, and how much you are willing to pay. The claim that it is impossible for a VPN to achieve speeds like that is simply not true and pen drives tend to be way faster, USB 2.0 gets you up around 500Mbps and that's not the latest generation. Easily refutable claims like it must have been a pen drive tend to be the hallmark of conspiracy theories, since they are aimed at people who will automatically believe anything that fits the conspiracy.

The download speed is highly dependent on Quint's internet connection.

The gifs load slowly because I'm laundering Russian money.
