I assume our right wing contingent isn't commenting because they are too busy engaging in violence this morning?

Racism has little to do with left wing/right wing politics and less to do with right wing. White supremacist nazis were leftists. Just because the American left told you they're on the right, doesn't make it so. Mussolini was a socialist, congratulated by Lenin when he took power. Hitler took the German Worker's Party and renamed them the National Socialist German Worker's Party. Many of their genocidal and Eugenecist ideas came from prominent American democrats. These people are responding to all the anti-white racism the left is fostering and encouraging. Racism is wrong, but when you allow one race to be discriminated against, of course they're going to march and/or more.

So you're basically saying the only thing the right wing of US politics has in common with the Nazis and Jim Crow Democrats is the rampant racism. That's really close enough for me. In no way do other right wing politics make up for the racism.

Ironically, the "Alt-Right" are the cerebral ones in this abortion. If Liberal leftist ever bothered to crack a history book..(heaven forbid)..they'd know that Lee never owned a slave and was actually against it. He fought to protect his homestead which anyone else would do regardless of the politics surroundiong that home. The more you know..... But that ol' Liberal credo goes.."Never let the truth get in the way of a good riot". See a white guy on a horse? Tear him DOOOOWN!! Burn it!

Myth - Lee was against slavery.

Partially true. Lee denounced slavery, but felt it was fit to sustain for the black race.

"I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral & political evil in any Country. It is useless to expatiate on its disadvantages. I think it however a greater evil to the white man than to the black race, & while my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more strong for the former. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially & physically. The painful discipline they are undergoing, is necessary for their instruction as a race, & I hope will prepare & lead them to better things. How long their subjugation may be necessary is known & ordered by a wise Merciful Providence."

Robert E. Lee - Letter to his wife (December 27, 1856)

Look at the politics of that era. It wasn't 2017. It was 1857. Mindsets were different then. Cryptic as that letter is, especially in a personal sense, it was pretty radical thinking for it's day. No?

You clearly do not understand what Lee, who was an original fucktard, was expressing.

Read it again and come back and tell us how radical the notion of "them black folk are a lot better off in slavery in America than they were in their native country" was for that time.
