Free really never is "free" these days

I love how TurboTax advertises free returns on their website, but near the end of your filing process, you get slammed with a $30 fee to file a state return, and if you aren't careful, you have to pay an additional 30 dollars if you want that state return free to be deducted from your federal tax refund.

At least I caught the second one; I just paid for the state filing fee on it's own with my debit card, so I didn't have to pay that bullshit "Refund transfer" fee.

Regardless, when it all gets approved I'm getting it all back plus some, but it's still frustrating.
