Just when I'd given up on the Linus character, they reel us back in and redeem him. I'd chalked him up to becoming like Dr. Smith from Lost in Space, but he actually gave a plausible reason for killing Jacob.

Good to see they finally confirmed Alpert came from the Black Rock.

And it's good to see Jack finally embracing his magical powers.

It did have kind of a creepy vibe, didn't it?

I guess the actress playing Alex did an okay job at just coming off as the happy teenage girl.....but maybe it was the way the actor playing Ben "looked" at her. It had that creepy pedophile feel to it, not just the feel of someone who had high hopes for a student and wanted her to succeed.

I imagine the show was trying to go for the whole "even in the alternate universe, Ben still has 'daughter-like' love for Alex"....but it came off less like 'daughter-love' and more like 'creepy pedophile' love.

I like the alternative histories. The what may have been. It fleshes the true persona's of each character out.

Well, I thought one of the most interesting things on the show was that the "parallel universe" now acknowledges that Dharma actually existed and that Ben had been to the island.

So, now we know that Richard came from the Black Rock and he is about 300 years old? Holy shit. No wonder he is going batshit crazy.

This episode is exactly why I hate fucking previews for what comes on the next show. Having us watch that whole show knowing that Ben was going to die was bullshit to me. I think even in the opening credits they said to "stay tuned for Ben's death" or something like that. I guess their spin is that they meant "the death of the old Ben and the birth of the new and improved Ben". Whatever. I'd rather have just been watching it without any preconceived notions of what I thought was going to happen.

I just hate previews of the next weeks show, period! And that goes for all TV shows. I'd prefer the BSG approach.
