So it wasn't illegal but if the DBs had been properly positioned it would have been illegal?
The WR runs right into the DB and falls in the process while the slot receiver runs underneath. That's what a pick play is all about and Notre Dame got called on it against FSU. If the WR doesn't fall down and continues his route - not a pick.
The inside DB had to move back to get around the fallen WR. The DB couldn't play bump coverage because the slot receiver was playing off the line.
I can understand not calling it - it's still a pick play. Watson after the game referred to it as a pick. Dabo referred to it as a "rub".
