  • Raiders vs Patriots in Mexico

I'm pretty stoked. I couldn't go last time because I got a new real job so I really hope this date works out. Yay!

    Welcome to UJ sports.

This a weird rerelease story IMO, somewhere lost in a 11 page UJ Raiders thread I once posted the Pats were off to Meh Hi Co in 2017.

So I was surprised to see the story reappear in this week's news unless ticket brokers are having trouble filling 100,000 Mexico City seats at current prices.

Obviously Raider fans should outnumber Pats among the Americans in the crowd based on location.

I know there is a lot of New Englanders are nervously clutching their wallet and purses in Houston this week so I question how many would dare to venture into Mexico City other than a 1 day charter flight from a Mexican coastal resort.

Will the macho history of the Raiders styling in black with Mexican-American 70 year old Jim Plunkett as their spokesperson win the Mexican Fans?

Or will 40 year old Handsome Tom and his Spanish speaking wife Gisele move the crowd?

Playing in Mexico makes FAR more sense than games in London.
Mexico City isn't bad at all for safety. Cabo is more dangerous than Mexico City.

How about the depressing poverty and begging factor?

There aren't any homeless or people begging in the US? Cabo has poverty and beggars.
You might want to visit the city, I'm guessing its very different than you think it is.

I always will remember driving a illegal alien ranch hand back to Mexico for Christmas. I made the mistake of giving a poor kid a quarter and within a minute we were surrounded by begging kids.

My brother gave a 6 year old grateful kid an empty Coors six pack only to see a larger kid punch him and rip it away, it kind of put a damper on the whole trip.

I assume making the Pats travel to Mexico is punishment for winning a 5th Superbowl. I am sure the Commissioner is hoping they will all get kidnapped, raped and on the flight home, it will crash in the ocean and be attacked by sharks...with laser beams on their heads. Then run over and chopped up more by a submarine drug mule, with the leftovers being scooped up and processed into canned tuna. Just a theory.

Cabo isn't anywhere near Mexico City.

I didn't read all 11 pages of that other thread, my bad.

The NFL made it hard to buy tickets. It seemed like we had to wait forever. I'm pretty spontaneous and had the flights ready to go but my dumbass friend that was supposed to go with me talked me down and said wait until I had game tickets to buy plane tickets. Fucker. If you're reading this, I'm still bitter.

So, I'm more than likely going to go this one. My mom has begged me not to. I told her no way would I go alone and she slightly calmed down.
