  • Boston sports vibe is different this year, how is it in your town?

In cities that have 4 sports, the vibe shifts constantly as teams fortunes decide who gets the most attention.

Obviously its different in Cincinnati, Buffalo or Carolina

Boston in 2017 is still at the dance with the Patriots and aren't planning to leave anytime soon.

A local Sox message board (SOS) is unusually slow. Local talking heads are reveling when they report that although Pablo lost some weight he will still suck in 2017.

Most Sox media expecting Sale to choke in his first year like Price and Porcello did.

The 3 B's had career years and won't repeat it, Ortiz is gone and Hanley will go back to being Hanley.

The NBA deadline is this Thursday, but it seems like the local vibe is lets keep our multiple draft picks and let LeBron get a couple years older.

The Bruins Bandwagon has faded since a 2011 Stanley Cup win and fans realize they're not that good and the Patriots are.

In other words don't bother us we're gaga over the Patriots.

Its been 2 weeks since the SB but most Boston fans are still recovering from the season's journey and don't want to talk about other sports.

Most Boston fans know they have 17 more days off until March 9th when technically the NFL season opens and once again Boston is only interested in football.

I'm not complaining its just strange to see one sport take over a entire region.

That's strange considering the BoSox are sitting at #2 in the latest Vegas odds to win the World Series.

Focus is on the Pens with growing discussions of the Bucs and what Steelers? And Pitt basketball is disappointing.

San Diego is talking about trying to land an MLS team to replace the Chargers. One local columnist likened it to marrying the first sailor who came by.

Chicago has 2 of the very best teams in their respective sports and 3 of the very worst in the others.

The Cubs and the White Sox play in the same sport.

Its a sad day when the fucking Lions might give you the best chance of playoffs. Tigers are decent but aren't scaring anybody. Pistons are the epitome of "meh" and the Red Wings, once the class of the NHL for an entire decade, are really fucking bad.

The Wings went to the playoffs 25 years in a row. That's soon to come to an end. And that's a bloody shame.

Pretty certain you understood what I meant.
Also, quit saying "just sayin". It's fucking old and lame.

They were in fact the class of the league.

                    Now the Hawks are.

I can't argue that. They've been really good for a consistent number of years now. Probably the most impressive thing is they've done it in the salary cap era. Thats a nod to solid management right there.

Sad. When Bronson Arroyo (who hasnt pitched in two years) is looking to make your starting rotation. Reds are going to suck
UC is looking pretty good in basketball. Across town @ Xavier is sliding. They should be ok, but slumping in Feb. is not good.
Bengals are The Bengals. All these damn sports talk people are idiots. Who can the Bengals trade for who? Who is getting drafted? Enough.

Yep, its disgusting how the media keeps finding fault with the Sox.

Did you realize the Sox traded away 2 future hall of famers to acquire Sale?

I followed a Patsfan link to a Bears message board and found 8 different Jimmy G threads, you think they will part with their #3 draft choice?

Two future hall of famers you say? Kind of a bold statement for a couple of guys that really haven't even got their major league cup of coffee.
