  • If you could play for any sports team where would it be?

My first step was- what sport?

Baseball- 162 games, winters off, 6 weeks in late winter working? 4 hours a day in a warm locale.

Football 20-24 games, springs off, 6 weeks in summer heat working? 10 hour days.

    Basketball 82 games- pass

Hockey 82 games- most of spring and all of summer off for most. I think the girls would be easier but uglier-pass

Being honest with myself I don't think I could handle 0-17
hitting streaks or consecutive blown saves.

Missing a tackle or block amongst 50 plays is easier to live with.

    So football it is

    Location?

Could I handle all the attention a homegrown player gets, no to the Pats.

Looking for a winning organization that has a outdoor stadium in warmer weather near the ocean.

Looks like its the Baltimore Ravens for me.

If you're a star player you can make megamillions in baseball and play into your forties.

Even the scrubs do pretty well.

The chance of getting life-crippling injuries is much less, especially if you're not a pitcher (or catcher I guess).

Average football career is ~4 years.

For your long-term health and full enjoyment of the money, baseball is the way to go.

Assuming you are going to be a decent player - golf.
You win 1 major and a few lower level tourneys - you are set for life on the corporate circuit as long as you aren't an asshole. Jim Furyk has 1 major - career earnings of $67 million and you can probably match that on the corporate circuit and endorsements. Justin Leonard - 1 major and $33 million in earnings - double it with corporate funds.

When you hit 45-50 years of age - you play 10x per year and do another 20 corporate events.

To be any good at pro golf, you have to have nerves of steel.

Last I heard the Pirates were the lowest paid team in the league. You'd have to get a part time job.

Baseball, and the SF Giants. I am a Braves fan, but the Giants fans fucking Love their team, and the Giants are winners. Plus you live in the Bay Area.
