  • 29 days until the 2017 NFL Draft held in Philly starting April 27th.

MMQBs Kaplan mock #2 1st round draft column was an interesting read.

    4 QBs drafted - #3 Trubisky/Bears, #10 Watson/Bills, #12 Kiser/Browns and #25 Mahomes/Texans.

IMO teams will grow nervous if they pass on drafting Watson and somebody will trade up to get him and he won't be there at #10 for the Bills.

    3 RBs- #8 Fournette/Panthers, #19 Cook/Bucs, and #29 McCaffrey/GB

IMO Based on his combine performance, McCaffrey doesn't get pass #15.

Punch her in the face RB Joe Mixons pro day is tomorrow, what team will have the balls to draft him and when?

Defense has 7 out of the top 10 picks, 4 DBs in the top 7.

Kaplan has the Pats taking another southern college weed/gun guy in LB Tim Williams at #32, gee Emily don't you think BB learned anything after drafting Aaron Hernandez?

With Philly's rep as fighting fans I wonder if they will have prison cages on hand?

Taking any of those qb's in the top ten is insane, but it will happen. They all looked soft at the combine.

Some of those teams should bulk up their lines and wait 'til next year, when the crop is supposed to be superior if not flat out exceptional.

Clemson HC Dabo Swinney double downed on comparing Deshaun Watson to Michael Jordam after his Pro Day yesterday-

"This guy is brilliant between the ears and he's special in his heart"

That's a bold statement for quarterback deprived NFL teams to ignore on Draft Day, so who blinks first and when?

I hate our PC world where our media won't fairly discuss intelligence or lack there of when comes to successful NFL QBs. There are tons of white QBS who had slow field recognition skills and failed. It might be a direct knock to someone like RG3, but so what its not racial its about the ability to process information in 2 seconds.

On the other hand by tying himself to Watson he might forever be known as Dumbo.

There will be QB's go early in the first round but only because so many teams need one. This is a weak QB draft class, but the QB pool is so thin in the NFL right now teams will stretch and make draft mistakes.
IMHO there isn't a QB who should go in the first round of this draft. Teams should look for the hidden gems in the 3rd, 4th or even 5th rounds. Think Kurt Warner, Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Tony Romo .....

What the really crappy teams should do is draft the best player available, tank this year, and grab the legitimate 1st round QBs available in the next draft.

But they suck for a reason, and one of the main ones is their poor draft decision-making.

Your point is valid. Out of thousands and thousands of NFL players, how many really good/great QBs were black? By the same token how many great running backs or great wide receivers were white? It has to be a consideration come draft day. No one is allowed to say it.

A QB that goes 16 for 23 in the Senior Bowl will have some smart team ready to pick him if he lasts to #199.

Every time I read that guy's name I envision the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket screaming into his face while making fun of his name.
I don't know why. My brain works funny that way sometimes.
