IMO MLB did a lousy job scheduling and promoting the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

I forgot it was on and missed it , but even then I can't admit I would have watched much of it If I had been more aware.

My local sites pretty much ignored it, and I can't stomach 1 hour's viewing of ESPN just to see 44 minutes of basketball talk to get 30 seconds of the WBC.

I've tried to get adjusted to switching tp MLB Network from the NFL Network since there on vacation for 22 hours a day right now but its tough loving another team now as its to soon since the other ended.

I'm guessing because casual fans look at the size of the 2 countries and expect USA to win ,not many players will be making the talk show circuit or doing commercials.

On the other hand, the winning guys are unselfish unlike most of the USA players, so they maybe they will get another ten bucks for an autographed WBC picture...

Was aware it was on. Kinda like a spring training game. It doesnt really mean anything. Bean, you are correct. Scheduling this during the NCAA Tourney is stupid, or even having this is stupid. What does it prove, no superstars played in it, so whats it matter. Trout, Kershaw, Harper didnt play.

ESPN has their agenda with the NBA, they do not care about sports that they arent getting paid to carry. And all the racial shit on ESPN is a joke. I quit watching them a while back.

They had 51k at the game last night tho. Was pretty electric. Hard to compete with the NCAA tourney tho.

It was probably a little bit of a bigger deal here on the west coast with games being played in San Diego and L.A. That being said, I think it is really more about showcasing baseball in other countries.

If Levar Ball had a kid playing this would have been all over ESPN.

That kid had better not wind up in a place like Milwaukee, Minnesota, or Toronto. He will fade into oblivion.
