Interesting 10 game western road trip awaits the Pirates as they will see if they're buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.

If anything, sellers. It's what they do.

From afar it seems like they have been able to stay under the local radar the last 20 years as the Steelers and Pens have been so good it distracts fans.

Pirates are 50-50. 2 1/2 behind the fading? Brewers and the surging Cubs (8-2) are just a half game back.

Do the Pirates management feel why bother after the addition of Quintana the Cubs are going to run away and hide?

It doesn't seem like Pirates owner Robert Nutting cares if the fans call him crazy for not going for it in a year when the Cubs
had a half season WS, hangover and the Cards are struggling at 48-51.

          If not now, when?

          Don't $ 2.249,201 Pirate Fans (2016) deserve better?

          • The fans do deserve better, and the attendance numbers will decline because they're not getting better. I was discussing McCutcheon with my daughter the other day and we agree the Pirates don't deserve his loyalty and I think he should find a team that has a chance of winning a series.

Hes a perfect type of player for the Tigers and spacious Comerica Park but alas, it looks they have virtually no interest in actually winning.

Yesterday the Tigers got rid of the easily tradable Justin Wilson for a couple of infield prospects as it seems Kinsler and Iglesias are history.

I will admit I was relieved Iggy didn't turn out to be the next Ozzie Smith especially after 2014 when he hit 300 I was thinking the Sox made a big mistake even though Cespedes helped us win a WS.

So what are the Vegas odds on a Verlander trade, even money? He might get traded in August to save some acquiring team money thinking if he's waived no one will pick up the contract.

                • The Tigers must really suck.
