  • Hey golf fans, who are some of the golfers you want to win the 2017 US Open?

I rarely cheer for favorites or past winners, I prefer the Cinderella stories but I can't help hoping for 150-1 longshot Phil Mickleson, but then he withdraws.

I always thought a tournament that any US male could enter should have a champion named Bubba.

Rickey Fowler is off to a quick start wouldn't mind him winning.

The Erin Hills, Wisconsin course is comparable to a British Open course with extremely deep rough so it will be fun watching players trying to maintain their composure.

The two guys I enjoy watching play well are Jordan Speith and Rory.

I'd be ok if Lee Westwood finaly won one. Charlie Hoffman would be my second choice.

Ironic day for Rory as he has a eagle on the second hole and goes on to miss 7 of the next 16 fairways and ends up +6 and trailing by 13 to Ricky you playin so fine Fowler.

Earlier in the week Rory stated this about Erin Hills course......

The fairways are 60 yards apart if we can't hit them we should pack up and go home.

Hmmm England's Lee Westwood (44) -3 is in the mix but I can't cheer against Americans.

Charlie Hoffman (40) -2 would make a nice father's day story as proof a young wild and crazy guy can mature into a caring father of 2 young daughters who rush the 18th green.

Hey about a real longshot like Xander Schauffele, born in San Diego and a San Diego State alum with career earnings of $193,000 dollars is now alone in 2nd place?

24 year old Justin Thomas breaks Johnny Miller's 44 year old record by shooting a 9 under 63.

I wonder how long until Harrybutt posts his support for thia Alabama grad..

I miss Tiger in his prime. He made golf watchable and even entertaining. No one has really stepped to take over. The current group is meh. Among the current batch of golfers, I guess I would always pull for Dustin Johnson to be in contention so the cameraman would have plenty of excuses to pan in on Paulina's ass.

I think you have to give it time, but then I always cheer against the favorites especially on that was obsessively over covered by the media like Tiger.

In a father's day remembrance, watching golf with my dad was a weekend shared experience for many years.

He liked nothing more after retiring to watch golf and narrate his entire 18 hole round he just played with great detail and I learned to listen and question some of his boasts when warranted.

One college winter break he was constantly bragging about all the money he won in their 3 times a week group so I called his hand and told him starting in January record every golf day's earnings in a log.

By the 3rd week in January he gave it up and I kind of felt bad, but I think my mom appreciated being spared his constant boasting.

                          good times

                            Congrats Brooks

He seems to be a bit of a player off the course as well as Fox was misinformed on who is his current girlfriend.

You never hear about about the PGA golf with women nightlife, probably a lot of trophy wives out cheating on their old husbands.

This guy was just on local talk radio. He won $400k for his finish. The real story is how he qualified for the U.S. Open. He went to the qualifying tournament, played 36 holes and then played a 37th at 8:00 at night. 5 guys playing for 2 spots. The next morning 3 guys were still playing for two spots. By finishing 5th he automatically qualifies for next year's U.S. Open. If he would have finished 4th he would have qualified for next year's Masters.
